Panic Bars & Exit Devices
The most frequent complaint we hear is a door that doesn’t latch when it closes. The panic bar may be fine; the door closer is often out of adjustment and the door isn’t closing with enough force to engage the latch. An unlatched rear door is an open invitation after hours, so we check the closer and the device together.
Other problems include bars that stick, latches that don’t retract fully so the door has to be pulled, worn internal parts on high-traffic doors, and devices damaged by forced entry. We repair what can be repaired and replace what can’t with commercial-grade hardware suited to the door type — rim, mortise or vertical rod.
Exit devices are life-safety hardware. We install them to work the way they’re supposed to: one push to exit, no keys or special knowledge needed from the inside.
